Benefits of Rosehip Oil

So here’s another of my must-haves. I used this oil only about 4 months until now and I wonder why noone told me about this before! The results are remarkable. I couldn’t buy this oil at its purest, so I bought it in a mixture with some other healthy oils. I can’t repeat it often enough, stay away from E numbers and unknown ingredients! What your mind can’t digest, your skin will neither! I use some chemical products too, but that should be an exception. So now let’s have a look at the benefits of this miracle oil.

Bad Skin and Acne

Rosehip oil is rich in Collagen and rich in Vitamin A, which helps your skin to clean itself as it „produces“ new healthy cells and pulls out the dead cells.

Dry Skin and Skin Peeling

With the season change, your skin may dry out. This oil has a high concentration of fatty acids which help to keep your skin hydrated and nourished.

Uneven Pigmentations

With time you’ll definitely notice how rosehip oil evens out your hyperpigmentations. But it is important to apply the oil not only on the pigmented spots but also on the surrounding areas because even the transition zones must be treated.

Sun Damage

Excessive heat and harsh UVB rays can damage your skin badly. This oil helps in aiding cell damage which may help to fight sun damage. (But always preventively use sun protection!)

Scars and Stretch Marks

This is the same effect as I mentioned in the ‘Uneven Pigmentation’ part. The skin which appears darker is mostly either dead or damaged skin. While rosehip oil furthers the regeneration of the cells it is a huge help to treat scars and stretch marks.

Eye Area

Rosehip oil helps to reduce the puffiness due to its anti-oxidants qualities and as you can deduce from some previous points it also helps to reduce the dark circles under your eyes.

Dandruff and Hair Loss

What works for your face can also benefit your scalp. As mentioned this oil supports cell repair of the skin, which means your scalp gets more nourished and hydrated. Healthy scalp leads to healthy hair!

These are some reasons why I use rosehip oil on a daily to weekly basis. I normally apply rosehip oil after cleaning my face before bed and sometimes in the morning instead of my day cream. I only apply the oil in the morning, if I feel like my skin needs some treatment (to women: for example those breakouts before our periods ^^). As rosehip oil is a ‘dry’ oil, it absorbs fast and does not leave the skin oily. But it’s all about the amount! You will not need more than one tiny little drop for the whole face. Warm the oil by rubbing it between your hands and massage it well into your skin. And for the hair/scalp treatment, I recommend to apply the oil in the evening, let it sit overnight and wash the hair in the morning. Again you only need a little amount of this oil! There are of course many other benefits of this oil, but these are the ones I witnessed myself! Thanks for reading I hope it was a help. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to leave a comment.
