According to me, it’s unbearable that for some it is still a great taboo to talk about the female cycle. How is this something disgusting or embarrassing? It’s natural and half of the population has to deal with it anyway…!

Anyway. Talking to my friends, I realised that many suffer from various side effects of their periods. I’m going split the information into different categories.

Today we will be talking about nutrition. You may know that our food probably has the most significant effect on our well being. It’s incredible how much we can control by diet. So let’s see what you should consume to make your periods less painful!

What to eat:

FOODS HIGH IN FIBER:

  • Avocados
  • Almonds
  • Artichokes
  • Squash
  • Pears
  • Berries
  • Figs

MAGNESIUM-RICH FOOD:

  • Bananas
  • Dark chocolate
  • Cashews
  • Pumpkin seeds

OMEGA 3 FATS:

  • Salmon
  • Sardin
  • Walnuts
  • Flax seeds
  • Chia seeds

IRON – RICH FOOD:

  • Spinach
  • Mint leaves
  • Coriander leaves
  • Red meats
  • Organ meats
  • Egg
What to drink:

FOR BLOATING:

  • Fennel Tea
  • Ginger Lemon Tea

FOR CRAMPS:

  • Mints Tea
  • Ginger Tea
  • Cinnamon Drinks
What to avoid:
